Artist: Mary Denise “Negra” Pilapil, 8

Denise is the oldest child. Her only sister is still a baby and appears in many of her photographs. She also likes to take pictures of trees. Her family lives in a small house. Her father works on construction sites, but is poorly paid. Her mother is a housewife. Denise is already in grade 3, but is constantly at risk of dropping out because of her family‘s financial difficulties. When she is older, she wants to become a cook. Her favorite dish is chicken, but she also likes vegetables.
